| Foster Care Unlicensed Foster Care
The Unlicensed Foster Care caseload is the count of children placed with relatives in unlicensed (kinship) foster homes. The Unlicensed Foster Care program provides services to children who need temporary out-of-home placement due to child abuse, neglect or family conflict. The foster parents in unlicensed foster homes do not receive monthly foster care stipends, but may receive other financial support for the foster child including counseling, a clothing allowance, medical care and child care. In addition, the foster child is eligible for a monthly "child only" financial grant under the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program.
